I saw one ... small black and white pygmy type pig, walking with it's owner ! I couldn't beleive my eyes as they strolled along ... it behaved just like a small dog.

How do they train their dogs/pigs !??

It gets stranger here by the day  laugh

I don't mind you asking... I work for a company that makes car engines,I am helping the guys improve their English.. All of them are graduate engineers so they can speak English - some are better than others though.

Paid.. yes I have been paid - and before I changed my visa the company even paid for 3 trips to H.K. - flight, food & hotels ! I am very fortunate to have this job.

Teggs, Pigs are more easily trained than dogs but they are also more naughty.  They get into trouble and are more curious than dogs, but they make the best of pets for people who love smart animals.  Personally, I never liked the dumb animals that just sit on my sofa like a pillow, so my pig was a good match for me.

Xinyuren... I totally agree with your feelings for dumb animals.I used to have Springer Spaniel - very smart dog. It was as though he read a book on 'how to be a dog' ! ...

I had a pig in America. Best pet ever, and much smarter than a dog. I wondered if they bred pot-bellied pigs in China.

Sure why not. I laugh when I hear the rooster as alarm clocks in apartments.

Yeah, actually I've seen about 2-3 people with a tiny pet pig. I thought it was really cool.

I had a pet piglet when I worked at the Police Academy. Actually, she was a police cadet that followed me home from the pub one night...

They sell micro pigs here in the pet market in Kunming. 600 RMB. They are supposed to stay piglet sized for life Smile

pet that doubles as dinner ?  seems a great idea if marketed properly.  kinda like the fella in Yunnan who killed people and sold them as meat.  That is thinking with your head !  (big head)

I guess it depends on where you live and your rental agreement. I know a friend of mine who bought a pet alligator about 2.5 years ago and it's actually still alive. Getting a bit big now though.

Dumbass used to take it around school and let the kids pet it!

I have two answers,  First, I see many a beautiful girl in China walking with one.  So, I would say yes.  Second, be careful!  I had a friend, back in the states, who was given a pot-bellied pig someone couldn't care for.  It grew up to be over 400 pounds (190 KG) but she still insisted it was her pet.  Its name was Judy (which was also my ex's name).  I liked that!

It's definitely more acceptable than a giraffe; unfortunately I learnt the hard way. Anyone want to buy a giraffe?

no regulations to keep people from doing that so far.  it wouldn't be a problem as long as you keep it clean without being complained by your neighbors.
