Q: How many of you use water filters or have installed a filtration system here in China?

The Nongfu water scandal has been freaking me out a bit because I always foolishly thought Nongfu would be clean and reliable. Now that it's not, I'm considering buying one of those portable filter jugs or even getting a filtration system installed in my sink. Has anyone used either in China? Which is best value for money? And is it worth it? I hear they're really expensive.

Rule of thumb. The company that has just been outed in a scandal is the one with least risk. They would be under scrutiny and thus upping their game, the rest will be able to unnoticed be sloppy with stopping employees peeing in the products.

The water filters are priced per capacity. You can get a Midea one from pretty cheap. It can then only handle a certain volume per time interval. My mother in law has a big mofo version that is just connected where the water pipes enter her apartment, so she showers and flushes the toilet using filtered water. The water still has a moderately funny taste, but the Laduzi monster has not yet visited me from drinking it straight from the tap.

We thought about having one put in, but the genius that came to make an offer could not figure out how to do it properly, he wanted to put an extra tap next to the existing in the kitchen, for us to take drinking water from, but I also want to have the filtered water, at minimum in the bathroom for toothbrushing.
