The cost depends on how fast you want it processed, what country you’re in and if you’re applying as part of a group or not. When your visa is processed as part of a tour group it should be a little bit cheaper. Having it done in 2-3 days, or same day, is more expensive. If you have your visa handled through an agent it’s going to be significantly more expensive.

In most countries you pay more for more entries (for L and F visas). An unlimited entry F visa usually costs twice as much as a single entry F visa; the price for a double entry visa is usually right in between the two. To get your visa expedited at the embassy or consulate usually costs 20-50% more depending on whether you want same day or 2-3 day processing.

The prices visa agents charge to handle visas fluctuates quite a bit, the harder it is to get a visa (usually during the run up to big events like this anniversary) the more it costs. F visas can run between 2,000 and 7,000 RMB – before big events and during crackdowns this price can go even higher. The price also depends on how many entries you want – the more entries, the more it costs. Z visas are even more expensive (and of dubious legality), having an agency handle a visa for you can run between 8,000 and 12,000 RMB; because prices often change, be sure to ask around before you agree to a price.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change student visa to labourer one is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
