Q: How much does it cost to get a wisdom tooth removed in China?

I've been getting a toothache lately and think it might be my wisdom tooth. I don't have health insurance but would like to get it pulled at a dentist here if it's not too expensive. How much approximately would it cost to get pulled at a mid-range type of dentist clinic?

Probably 1000 kuai or more. . . I know someone that got their tooth pulled and that's how much it was here.

Scandinavian:

why would you have your tooth pulled out if you only had one ?

Having wisdom teeth extracted can be difficult. Is it impacted? That would be surgery. I'd go to a dentist and get a quote.

really depends on whether you will go to a Chinese or Western clinic, also the doctors may be reluctant to pull it out if it's hurting. They may just give you some painkillers to ease it whilst it grows through.

I had major toothache last year, so much it was giving me a headache 24/7 and lasted about a month but the doc just said take the painkillers, Now I'm ok and I kept my tooth!

with wisdom teeth it is relevant to know if you can keep your tooth or not. you could consider going to a local dentist for an xray, have the picture sent to a dentist back home for a second opinion.

sometimes the teeth will be cause pain despite being in the correct spot.

It's considered that Shanghai is the most expensive city in China, and still it's 100 RMB for one tooth (plus 7-14 RMB for a visit) - can be done in any governmental clinic. Just recently my GF removed all 4 of her wisdom teeth for that price. Other way I believe there are no upper limits - private foreigner clinic on the top of the "Bottle Opener", golden instruments, dentist dressed like panda, five assistans with big boobs - you name it - you get it - it's China.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
