Q: I have been a diligent mask wearer and hand washer throughout 2020 why am I crook?
At the time of writing, I have had a cold for about 2 weeks with coughing and runny nose. Temperature checks at my gate are normal.
My question is: if masks are the panacea for the coof why am I crook?

I think masks are more to stop you transmitting the covid than to stop you catching it, although apparantly they do provide some protection for you. You can also catch it through your eyes if it's in the air.
One should wear a mask even when taking a dump alone in WC! You won't be aware of transmitting it ...
My mask is constantly on me chew even during a sleep. I am keep repeating that to my hospitals-keen household.
However, reason for mask during the sleep is a pure defence ...

I can imagine the joys of coughing and sneezing into your mask while you are wearing it - so healthy for you breathing that in.
A cough/sneeze is the normal/healthy way your body expells particles from your body.
You have a cold, nothing more or less.
you do not have the plague.
In fact becasue you have a cold, the chances of you 'catching and transmitting 'Covid' are next to nothing' (from a doctor friend)
The common cold is the same family of viruses as 'COVID'
You are a normal person with normal health.
I can not understand why people expect to be 100% well 100% of the time.
That is not how nature works, and we are all part of nature. TBH it is laughable how terrified people have become while experiencing normal bodily functions. We will be all made to feel afraid for even breathing soon.

Yes, it's winter, I have a cold. That's it but I am getting some sideways looks as I cough, sneeze and splutter about.
It is pretty gross coughing and sneezing with a mask on. I've taken to carrying a couple of spares for when things get messy.
A good sneeze just isn't as satisfying with a mask on. The alternative would freak people out. I am nothing if not harmonious ;-D

IMO, Chinese will devalue for sure just by looking at the US$ how it's loosing value ...
