Q: Is it typhoon Usagi going to hit Guangdong?
Rated as Super Typhoon, having reached the 160 mph wind guts, it's heading toward Hong Kong and South Guangdong.
It's considered the strongest storm in the world in 2013. it's expected to land on Sunday 22.

Good, it's been so f'ing hot the last week or so, about time something will cool it down a bit. I just got a nice new pair of Adidas shoes, though, so will have to break out the old Reeboks for a few days.
Funny I haven't read anything about this typhoon till just now. People in Guangzhou don't give a shit about a little spinny storm.
That's good and bad, good that the rain will hopefully push away some of this hot weather but not so good as I had some (outdoor) plans for Sunday...Can we ask it to wait just one more day?
Being outside during typhoons is brilliant. You can use your superpower of "not dying by getting a bit of rain on you" and observe how the locals suffer or be able to be out without the air killing you, the streets are washed clean from spit/shit/garbage .... and, you know the sun is still shining above the clouds

...we live slightly above sea-level, so when the whole downtown area is submerged, we can still go to the local shop for icecream without breaking out the canoe.
Latest update says it is likly to be a cat 1 typhoon when it makes landfall Sunday evening
