I don't think I've EVER seen kiwi fruits on sale in China! They have a whole galaxy of other fruits including loads of imports, but why not kiwis? They're the perfect picnic fruit! (well ok not perfect cos you need a spife [spoon + knife] to eat them)
You haven't seen kiwis? I see them at most fruit stalls but they're usually extortionately expensive. Something like 25 kuai per jin. I never buy them because of the cost.
Go to any major supermarket and they will have them. Also the more well supplied fruit stalls should have them too. There are Kiwi's from Southern China, they are cheaper but not so great. If you are going to buy them get the more expensive ones from New Zealand.
Where are you living to have never seen Kiwi Fruits? I have seen them in the big and small cities, supermarkets, and food markets.
Well everyone assumes you are asking about the vine grown fruit.
Are you really inquiring about homosexuals from down under?
I really don't know why you've never seen them. As most of people answering I've seen them in almost all street fruit vendors, supermarkets, etc, etc, etc.
Even in bars & restaurants is common they have natural kiwi juice.
Seems like chinese people like it a lot. I guess you just arrived China not more than 1 month ago, try going in to those places where u see they sell vegetables & fruits, dont be afraid, this country is very safe.
Buying a Kiwi is illegal so you should always say no. The bird is an endangered species. the reason it is called a kiwi is because its call sounds like 'kiwi'
If you mean kiwi as in the people who come from New Zealand then i would think they cost a lot here as there aren't that many of them in the world let alone in China.
Maybe you are a New Zealand rugby league fan as they are called the 'Kiwis' too.
If you refer to the fruit with that word in it then maybe you mean the kiwi fruit, which is in every supermarket and store i have seen and currently selling for about 5rmb each. Zespri is the NZ kiwi fruit.
try to go out and go to supermarket..it's impossible of you not to see a kiwifruit!!!or maybe you just dont know what is it?so many kiwifruit here in China but its expensive. theres a yellow and green of it.
Kiwi fruti are sold in the Chinese markets as well as large chain stores. Just open your eyes and all will be revealed.
I live in a tier 3 city, and I've seen them at Walmart. I think they even grow out in the countryside here, you can probably pick them yourself if you know where to go.
They are plentyful in Shenyang and are 3Y per jin. They are locally grown and are not even close to being as good as the varieties available in Australia.
When I was young I tasted my first Kiwi Fruit in Tasmania. They were not common or popular in Australia at that time and were actually called Chinese Goosberries. Not long after they were given the name of Kiwi Fruit, well marketed and now are very popular. So they may well have originated in China.
Beijing is plentiful markets and supermarkets good and reasonable price
Sure have you can get them at almost any market you go to in Beijing. Try going to the marketplace they have good deals on those fruits. If you like Kiwi Juice the fast food chain Hollywood has an excellent Kiwi/Banana Juice or other blending fruits. I'm sure you could just ask for Kiwi Juice and they would make it for you.
Kiwi fruit are very, very common in all of the major supermarkets in Chinese cities. Heck, in the small provincial city where I live, even the oper air markets carry kiwi fruit.
The local coffee shops even make kiwi-based pies, drinks, etc., etc.
they r available in almost any supermarkets or in the fruit selling shops...
It is easy to find. And this fruit are rich in vitamin C.
Try to eat kiwi every day if you afford .........
There is a big taste difference, however, betwen the kiwi fruit grown in China and the imported kiwi fruit -- both a difference in taste and a difference in the actual size of the fruit. I often see customers at my local Carrefour pass over the local kiwi fruit and purchase the imported ones. As a result, the local fruit is then marked down pricewise and then it is boughten.
They have Kiwis here just REALLY expensive, Lemons are the same unless you buy local then they aren't as sweet. I was able to find them in walmart and careforre.
