Was told by Entry-Exit Bureau I can go HK and come back into China before 29Nov. Possible?

No. Single entry means one entry. I'm assuming you are already here so if you leave your entries are finished. You can, however, apply to extend your stay here for 30 days. You'll have to pay a fee. I believe the amount varies depending on which country you are from (so I've been told.)

Perhaps they meant that you could go to Hong Kong, apply for a new visa, and re-enter that way?

shang3223:

Oh no! I saw a Spanish lady in distress at Minsheng Lu bureau. She went to check with a operation counter girl who was free then. As usual, it sickened me to see the typical Chinese F.U. service - by tturning such a simple question down, asking her to wait for her queue nbr which will eventually go back to those counters. I pity her as will wait a long time. I have waited almost 2 hrs as they go for their freaking lunch (leaving one counter open - might as well close the whole damn place!) So I took her to the receptionist & interpreted the situation. The Chinese looked at her passport & confirmed 3 times she could fly back from HK. I did emphasize it's a single-entry & has been considered used when coming in. The Chinese recep was so darn sure that the Spaniard will have no problem coming again. Well, hope she or her friends are reading this! Gee, shdnt be a stupid helpful ass again!

you can come back before 29th but not on the same visa you are holding now. (going to HK is considered leaving the Chinese Visa area) you would have to apply for a new visa in HK.

i know this answer is late, but maybe somebody has a similar question in the future Wink
