Hello fellow readers hope you well so far I'm 10.5 months into an 12 months teaching contract in NE China.I wanted to know as i want to return home to Canada for the Xmas/New year period, how can i start applying for new jobs as i want to return to China to a different city after the New Year beginning-middle of January.
have a few questions for you readers
1. Should i finish out the 12 month contract but how can i get the new visa for next years job as my visa expires in middle of november, or should i start applying jobs and give my 30 days resignation notice soon, then terminate contract one month early and return home and apply for new visa in time for next year return January to a new city.
2.Or should I complete the 12 month term (mid november finish) but will I still have enough time to get new visa for my return to New City in January or can i transfer my papers and renew visa before going back home, and dont need to do process again as my contract finishes in middle of november and i want to return back to China Beginning or Middle of January to an new city.
3. say if the rp expires in the middle of end november how i can reenter china when the valid pr expires after i leave china can i reenter china again or must apply for new visa.
thank you hope somebody give me some suggestions I am confused at this present time and give me some advice.

You don't need to apply for new Z, if you just extend your Residence permit on time (before expiration). You must have new employer, who will extend your RP.
You can exit and reenter China as many times as you want with valid RP, so your Christmas out of China is just matter of 'discussion' with your new RP sponsor (employer).
Rin:
If he's moving to a new city, doesn't he need a new RP? I thought RPs were linked with jobs/cities?

No, there is no need for new RP/Z visa. If FT moves with valid RP, then PSB in new city will acknowledge it (change RP sponsor in their records), but they won't touch (change) RP in the passport. PSB's advice in new city (Dalian) in Nov. 2012, was: 'Come back one month before RP expire!'. So, I was working in Dalian with valid RP, originated in Yingkou, in the same Province, but different RP sponsor/employer. I am not sure, how is if you change Provinces, but PSB in new city would be my suggestion for more info about that.
Hi, first of all a question, if your contract and visa are due to expire in November, why not just complete it? This will give you enough time to get a new visa while home if you begin your online research now. Secondly, and probably more important you don't stay what sort of place you want to work in: training school or school/university. The Spring Festival holiday will be beginning in mid-January and the new semester's in schools and universities won't begin until February. Training schools have a longer work time.
Just finish your contract and apply for jobs now. Most will not want you to start until after the Chinese new year so I's aim to come to China just after the holiday. Why would a school hire you and then send you on paid vacation a week after you start?
