Q: Is there a Russian section of Harbin?
I heard that there is a Russian section or street in Harbin. Can anyone give me more details on this.

There are many "protected" buildings in Harbin that were built by the Russians about 100 years ago. There are numerous churches in Harbin that were built as Russian Orthodox Churches. Some of these buildings and churches survived the ravages of war, revolution and cultural revolution and many did not.
There are numerous Russian restaurants in the city as well -- some authentically Russian -- staffed by and owned by Russian and many ersatz copies of Russian restaurants that are quite as good.
You can spend days and days looking at the old buildings. A walk down Central Avenue is about the place to start. Just do a search on google for Russian Harbin or on youtube if you can access it and you will see.
