If I downvote, I always say why. I never downvote without saying I have done so.
Can we all agree to do the same?
Certain user-accounts also never answer and only make comments in odter to cowardly avoid being butthurt by the subsequent downvotes which would be raining down upon said user-accounts. (downvoted in 3,2,1...)
PulSartre:
Those are the ones Stiggs said they "lurk".Such an enough word to define the way they are.
They lurk like dogs in the dark, ready to bark at and bite. When they bark, they pretend to eloquently do it and make themselves look to be of a Pedigree offspring. Yet they bark and they are dogs lurking in the darkness of the anonymity of the internet. Some wold pride to actually use their own name and surname and have families and be real. Yet they behave as though they are not there because they lurk like dogs. When they talk, they vomit words, which are intended to please the listening while they dirty the self respect of the reader.
Of a poor origin, rather spiritual and educational one, they prove to be Sine Nobilitatis, s.nob, and condescending, speak to others just to shine themselves through a pretended domination of the arts of words. Those are dominated by despise against others and make their talk an outloud barking, a bothersome howling in the loneliness of their empty lives.
So they lurk to make themselves be heard and apprehended by others that they too exist and are there...always around....always lurking.
Upvoting is contagious, a wee tap on your mouse can put a smile on your face, and get you a winter jacket.
29 weeks since my last downvote. How long since your last downvote?
Only voting Up or never voting Down is playing a mental game by using an artificially biased, pre-set method to determine how you will respond to a post. You are not being truthful with yourself and the other members if you don’t always vote your honest reaction to a posting. Choosing not to vote at all is okay, but it's not the same as choosing an Up or Down vote. It's a different kind of reaction.
Up votes encourage member participation and good quality content. Down votes discourage questionable content and bad behavior.
Votes either way send a message. They add (some) value. But a vote without an explanation is not a discussion, nor is it helpful to root out the underlying bases of agreement and disagreement. If the feedback is sincere, thoughtful, constructive, and without hostilities, then positive and negative feedback are both good.
Sometimes only casting a vote is good enough to voice your opinion, and other times you may want to explain your thoughts further. Both are okay. So is abstaining from voting. Just be honest and real.
Stiggs:
Yep, I'd agree with that.
Not that I really care about the vote system either but the votes I think are pointless, and a bit childish, are the ones obviously based on whether or not people like the poster.
Someone can write something quite thoughtful and relevant to the discussion, or even completely neutral and not offensive in any way but get voted down by about 10 people.
If Curious Dude starts using vowels then I'm in.
Stiggs:
I gotta ask Curious? Why do you write like that? You didn't when you first started posting.
Is it a time saving thing? Broken keyboard?
