Most private schools tend to close for a couple of weeks as the students are generally not around.Certainly the three I have worked for in the last five years have done this.
In LTCs you get the legal minimum holiday (usually) which is 3 days for Chinese New Year. Of course this depends on the contract but in LTCs paid holidays are NOT the norm.

Most private English schools (training centers) will close for a couple of days. They will then run winter camps for students who haven't gone to their hometown or are locals.
