Q: What is with all the northface jackets?
Never before have a seen such a dramatic and universal switch to one type of Jacket. It is like the whole of Beijing got sent a promotional northface jacket. No one is going hiking, it isn't raining outside so why the move to the unfashionable coat, especially when the clothes underneath do appear to be fashionable. Am I missing something? Are northface coats actually the best thing since sliced bread???

They are mostly fake.
I had one bought for me in Chengdu. Useful because it gets very cold there, but, when I wore it over a year ago in Shenzhen, I got wet inside as well as outside. Subsequent cost was worse. I had a wet damaged passport afterwards too.
They just can't make anything decent in this country.
If in doubt, have you ever known of a mobile phone that doesn't display caller IDs? I have one. It's a Huawei which a friend helped me get as I needed a cheap phone urgently. I have over 100 missed calls, and over 100 received calls from someone called "Unknown". I am sure someone is desperate to find me, but I will never know who she is. 
As an extra, why is the crying smiley on here labelled as "Cool"?

It happened the same at my $HK 150 Nokia. I thought ,reason was my cheap(est) phone, butt.....I'm thinking, that 'service' is probably covered with 'subscription'. I don't know! I am not serious phone user.
North face is doing a major marketing project in china, they recently launched a tv ad campaign and it seems to be working. Just remember that there will be lots of fakes added to the mix because of the popularity.
