Q: What to do if your students parents refuse (without saying so) to pay the tuition fee?
I had a student who I came to my house for English lessons. One day he stopped coming and didn't pay what he owed. I reminded him everytime I saw him and also his parents but nothing has changed. They are my neighbours and on top of that he has enrolled at my school to get more free classes from me. What should I do?

Stop teaching him? Refuse to speak English with him? You know a little Chinese, right? Well, I guess it wouldn't matter, you could just say nonsense, that would work, too. Apparently they're getting free lessons now. That's probably how they see it. You'll have to show them otherwise.
remember where you are. that is why schools mandate that payment is made before the semester starts. they dont care if you are their neighbor "that kind of behavior" is typical here. if you are going to charge payment up front, no exceptions. no money come back next time.

i know exactly what you mean it is difficult to serious think of everyone as a lieing cheating thief because in america (western culture) that behavior is considered bad behavior so we give each other the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. but here you cant do that because dishonesty is "proof of intelligence"
Don't be a chump. When you get scammed you have to scam back. The best suggestion given was to refuse to speak English with him. Or act like a boss and tell him you won't teach him unless he pays all the money he owes. If you're super direct it might shock him into actually complying.
Or have a little fun with it and teach him the wrong words for things...
teach him penis and sphincter and vagina as common english words for common foods...
Don't be so kind, request payment upfront and don't begin the class until payment has been received. You can be courteous and allow a one timer but if they come empty handed for the second class then refuse to teach and send them home.
What would you rather do? A. Teach and not get paid, or B. not teach and not get paid? The result is the same except you're doing work for free.
ALWAYS take payment up front, the parents do expect it and if they find you not doing it they WILL take advantage of you! It looks like they are doing already!
Tell them you forgot how to speak English and speak to him in Mandarin Chinese until he pays you....get really on his nerves say ting bu dong..
Capture him and send a note to his parents: "Pay up otherwise I will sell his internal organs to recover the debt".
