Actually, our new Murican got his RP this month and didn't need a police check or original degree or notorisation of it. Whereas the previous one had to jump through all the hoops.
ironman510:
Than thats called "Special Contact." The points still stands, you need a degree in any city. Unless you cheat the system.
biggj123:
Only for non natives. They dont check degrees for native speakers.
ironman510:
Thats false, they now require all of us to get our degree or certs authenticated by the Chinese embassy in our home country. So we're all on the same boat when it comes to degrees.
If you're in a city where this is true, you better be smart enough not to answer.
Shanghai
Honestly. GO GET AN EDUCATION. If you think you're qualified to teach when you haven't been taught... my oh my.
Kerelv:
To be fair ANY degree is ok which in itself is a bit weird. But admittedly limiting it to teaching degree would put most teachers out of their jobs ( not saying there's no teacher with a teaching degree, just that most in China don't have one ).
Also a degree does not reflect the competence of someone, ( maybe he couldn't afford it, couldn't for some personal reasons, etc ... Also I know a lot of people with a degree that are as dumb as a brick). But again Between degree and non degree holder, the average competence would be significantly higher for degree holder
biggj123:
If you have a real teaching degree and you teach in china......you have failed.
some provinces still don't spend the money to verify degrees, but most of the southern provinces have always verified your documents.
