@Trav. This is the eyes that see. The Chairman went on a very very long hike or march or something, I think it was to recover some gold he had stolen, but it turned out he could use a made up heroic military adventure as a cover.

I heard about that too. I based it off this historical event: Mao also lead the Chinese military to defeat the Guo Ming Dang. Mao has plenty of other military stories. He is a hero in the eyes of the beholder.
