Chinese girls only think of the next 5 minutes, not what the make-up they are caking their face will do to them the next 30 years.  Sorry, correction....but they also think of that sugar-daddy that they can get their IPAD / Iphone from.

Because they can test on animals, but can't be bothered to.

Organic takes a lot more land, and a lot more investment in natural fertiliser etc, basically it is a lot more work and takes a lot more space. China lacks the space and the rush for profit precludes taking the time to foster slower, more natural growth mechanisms.

Secondly, there isn't the demand for these items in China that would allow them to charge the substantially higher premium rates that make them profitable in the 'West'.

Try the 'Body Shop', Beijing airport, as far as I know the only one in mainland China.   About 50 shops in Hong Kong.   Students in my city in england empty all the Body Shop shops and send stuff home to their friends.   Message me and I'll give you more details.

I think the cosmetics that got bottled up and sell at stores must contain a lot of heavy metals. I read about it somewhere a while ago. And they are probably all over priced because of the brand, store rent, sales girls' salary, etc.

As for real "natural/organic" cosmetics, as a guy i heard a little too. My high school Chinese teacher told us she saves the water that washed rice, and use it to wash face the next morning. It makes her skin really nice. I also know many girls use cucumbers, yogurt to make masques. They seem really obsessed with it. I also read it yesterday that some girls use lard oil to make their hands skin whiter.

So I think it's a good way to ask the girls around you to know more "organic/natural " methods to make yourself beautiful Smile
