Shanghai has Spring Airlines who always come out with really great bargain deals to exotic locations in Asia. Here in Beijing on the other hand, you only have Air Asia who don't fly to many destinations and rarely have deals as good as Spring Airlines. It's not fair!

Air Asia is great as a transfer flight airline, if you don't mind sitting in Kuala Lumpur airport each time you travel to somewhere else. I got return ticket to Kuala Lumpur last September for about 2000 RMB, which is great. From there, Air Asia flights to Thailand, Indonesia etc are dirt cheap.
Be careful what you wish for, soon you'll be stuck on a plane next to that guy with leathery skin and a camoflauge suit carrying a bucket of dirty water and a shovel. You have no idea how he got either of those on the plane, security probably didn't wanna touch him for fear of contracting a disease- oh he thinks your in-flight meal is haochi. Airplanes don't have any music, but your friend had the foresight to bring a handheld walkman with some great classic Chinese tunes. Don't worry about sharing headphones, he didn't bring any. It's a good thing you don't have to pee, he looks like he might get aggressive if you walk over him. Oh and he's already made sure to lubricate the toilet seat with his urine (squat toilet users haven't had much accuracy training). And here comes the liquor cart...
