Maybe the guy did not try to get the girl to fall in love with him. Or the relationship is getting too close too fast... Just remember to always let him keep some of his freedom. Even in a Relationship he wants to hang out with his friends alone from time to time l.

each guy (and girl) is different.

it is important each has 'alone time', time with friends, time with other family members or time to do the other things in life that have to be done.

the happiest relationships i have witnessed are those where each person has time to be themselves, not always part of a couple.

Maybe a guy who says he is 'too busy' is smothered by the girl or needs any of the above.

I always tell my wife when I'm too busy, but we have an understanding; we have a tech startup and I'm busting my ass to win more clients and provide a better life for our daughter.

She knows I'm busy. Is your boyfriend busy? Why would you continue to pester him when he's focusing on his work? You sound like you'd just love nagging him while he focuses on work.  I could be wrong. Am I?

I had two girlfriends previously in China who wouldn't let me focus on my work. I'd disappear for 12-48 hours max, and I'd get messages like, "I hate you," "You're a scoundrel," "WHERE ARE YOU, MY LIFE IS OVER!!", and a bunch of other crazy-ass Facebook stalker posts for all of my friends to see, when I had to disappear for work for a couple days. If he says he's busy, just let him be... the worst thing you can do is continue to pester him.

If the girl is too sticky the the man will have to find some excuse. I doubt that men in general would give an excuse just to avoid the girl unless she is always looking for attention. I've known many girls who are attention seekers. They will go to great lengths to get attention and that in the eyes of many foreigners is just plain distracting. 

There are a number of reasons - including any of the above.

Also possible he's:

- found someone else more open to his advances

- realised you're not the love of his life and has moved on

- has heard you say something that he really doesn't like/is interested in (eg, talk of marriage, kids, parents, lifelong happiness... or "I'm a traditional girl", "I'm waiting til I get married" (ie, no sex)

- didn't get enough peace and quiet recently.

i agree with the others above - I've needed my alone time. And that mean, for me, not answering my phone, replying to texts, etc. My gf at the time then rang one of my friends who came knocking on more door to see if I was ok! Space, personal freedom, is SO important to us!!!

You need to understand.. those of us who come here aren't the run-of-the-mill people... we're a lot more comfortable in our own space. We don't need, and usually don't want, lots of other people (no matter how close we are to them) in our face all the time.... ringing us all the time... texting us all the time... and panicking when we don't reply immediately!

IF something is going to happen between you two, then sort out now what he needs to say so that you give him space.. and how much he needs. Don't be afraid to let him have his space, and to then come back to you. Not hearing from him for a day or 2 is NOT a bad thing (usually... )

I agree with Sorrel. It depends on the person. But if he does have feelings for you then pestering him will just push him away.

If he can't meet with you as often as before, maybe he has cooled, but this is normal after people have settled into a relationship more. If he's not got as much time for you, then maybe he's actually busy... If he never seems to find time to see you, then he's probably not into you any more and he doesn't know how to tell you.  

Just have a straight up conversation. Ask directly.

To the OP. I know you asked a serious question, so please don't be offended if I indulge myself.......

From my observations, a typical foreign guy/ Chinese girl relationship goes like this.

1 The meeting. can't stop talking to each other.

2 The attentive period. hands all over each other.  Much use of terms of endearment.

3. The " she goes strange stage". He becomes upset because she is ignoring her. The reason for this of course is that she is off with the boyfriend she already had. She needs time to decide if the new boyfriend is better than the old one.

4. The back together stage. This is usually the point where sexual adventures begin.

5. The badgering stage. He feels overwhelmed by her attentiveness. He says he is busy.

6. The ipad stage. An apple product is given as a token of love.

7. The blue illuminated face stage. She forever has her ipad stuck in front of her face. Now she is too busy, because she is on her ipad.

8. The happy stage. 

This is all tongue in cheek of course. It's not a serious answer.

But some people will relate to it .
