I've been looking through the job boards for my next China gig & it seems like it is business as usual for most of the fly-by-night schools.....still no z visa/RP.......No Degree? No Problem!.....work on an F visa.
Have the new visa rules, raids and crackdowns had no effect?
Have these "schools" been living in a cave?
Isn't it nigh-on impossible to renew L or F in country and even dodgy in HK now?
What the hell is going on?

I don't know exactly, but would estimate that its somewhere within the region of 85-90% and thats being generious. Even the big training schools (cough Hampson) are still doing it.
Web link of Chinese Schools, authorized to hire Foreigners:

Change 'Province' and 'Keyword' for School's level desired.
What if everyone just decided not to work on a L or F visa?
How screwed would these schools be?
Because its never the schools that get penalized for employing on the wrong visa, its the FT that gets it in the neck.
The school is still there in the morning after, but the FTs are in water prison.
Hampson are always advertising.......why?

Unqualified people will continue to work illegally on L and F visas, for slave labour wages. They will continue to whinge and whine later about being cheated just because they are illegal immigrants.
The more illegal teachers that are caught, the more propaganda the CCP has to throw around about the evil foreigners that show no respect to China and it's laws. That makes things difficult for the legal foreigners as well. At the moment, it serves the purpose of the CCP to allow the schools to get away with it. It is the foreigners they are after.

Amen, I was talking to a student who took classes at a Wall Street English . She was telling me her teacher was a student at nearby university. I was shocked to see how brazen they are letting others know that they are working illegally.
There is also the issue of schools that promise a RP to people who are qualified, but due to disorganization, dishonesty or general laziness just don't bother.
This happened to me when I changed jobs and provinces.....bloody rubbish!
icnif77:
School cannot promise RP, if you didn't entered China with Z visa.
School can start Z (Working permit) application, but you must exit China, and pick Z in your home country or HK.
If this is the case, you should know in 2 weeks if School is serious.
Kaiwen:
If the school do not come up with the promised documentation to obtain a 'Z' visa, then just walk away. It matters not whether you have signed a contract or not. Without the work visa being in the place, the contract has no legal standing. If you have salary outstanding, you may have to write it off but, in the long run, that would sure be a better option than working for a dishonest employer.

I agree guys!
Live and learn....
I was on an RP/FEC originally but switched to an F to look for work in Guangdong after I'd completed my contract.
I should have twigged with that school....so many red flags. But I wanted the situation to be true.
They still seem to be recruiting so it looks like more teachers have packed up and gone.
**Also I have an axe to grind with those schools who advertise "Part Time Work"....that is moon-lighting and technically illegal too. You have to work for who your RP is registered. So many laws are broken here and its always the teacher that gets it in the neck!....I'm sure this will continue even with the new 10000 RMB penalties for employers.icnif77:
My last Contract state, I can work part-time, but I shouldn't be late for my prime classes at RP sponsor.
Most schools get away with it by paying bribes to officials, this is common in China and other parts of Asia.
