The "legal" drinking age is 18, but it is never enforced. It is very common for parents to give their children wine at large or family dinners and it is common to see students as young as 13 at a bar drinking with their teachers. Convenience stores will also sell alcohol to anyone who wants it.

My guess would be that it would depend on how your new job relates to what you did in China. If there is no applicable work experience, then as an employer, I might give you points for thinking outside the box enough to seek employment in another country to broaden your horizons.

Yeah they do this after you register at the PSB. Its just to check what you told them is true or not. Usually they will phone the landlord but if you put her details on the forms, or if the lease is in her name they will ring her.
