Q: anybody know about moving the dead?

the whole flipping family is coming to move my deceased father in law tomorrow , brothers, sisters aunts, uncles. sons. daughters grandkids  ....  got 5 in my house now, another 5-6 looking for a place for tomorrow..I have room... but what the hell is this....he's only been dead a couple years...............how important is it that I participate...    I told the wife I don't want to. think I did hear something about construction. but honestly. I have no idea what is going on.

they are coming from Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Hainan....I met and respected my father in law a great deal. just don't get what is going on tomorrow.

It is pretty common I guess. I read about it recently in a news story about old people committing suicide because of a policy that was to take effect in Anhui province outlawing burial. Apparently many old timers feel they can't pass to the next life unless properly buried in the ground. After several years they are dug up and their bones are put in a much smaller container thus saving space.

This is a classic

Chinese wife asks laowei husband to take part in something insane without any proper explenation.

Ask for better communication. Since it is as close as a father in law, I'd probably play along nicely, but lets say you'd been married to your wifes sisters aunt instead, then wtf.

BHGAL:

you are very right Scan... it is a communication issue ... now I gotta move 'cause the family says this place is to big and expensive and unnecessary for the 2 of us.... they saved the damned hotel bill by staying here.

Scandinavian:

just say you plan to have 7 children, thus need the space.... would be a better lie than saying it is great to be able to have them all live there

A:Your potential employer is right! Purpose of the Medical exam before granting Z visa is to make sure, you won't be entering China in any abnormal and harmful to others condition.Few days after your arrival to China, you'll be required to complete another ME ... If ME in China will be OK, you'll get a Residence permit stamp into your book some 10-days afterwards. Imagine, you're an employer, who can sponsor my entry and work in China, but after my arrival to China would be found I carry some sickness, which would prevent Chinese .gov to issue a Residence permit. Rule is: Z visa should be converted into Residence permit in 30-days after entry to China.    So, my advice is:"Complete ME in your home country and forward medical results to your employer".Z visa grant will follow shortly afterwards. Employer is not wrong at their demand for the pre-arrival ME from your home country hospital.   -- icnif77
