Q: Anyone ever come across non-alcoholic beer here?

Love beer, just a little too much. Got no plans to go tea-total but i've cut way back since having a kid. Would be nice to sup on a cold one more often though, even if it doesn't have the added attraction of making me urinate in the living room. So non-alcohol or low alcohol beer (no, I don't mean Qingdao) would be a welcome find. Ever found any?

雪碧,百事可乐,可口可乐。

It's not so much the taste of the beer, but the sugar in it that you're craving. So, drink soda. Seriously...

GuilinRaf:

I like the buzz!!!!

For a long time, my favorite cigars were Don Thomas. You would smoke them and thet wiould give  you a pleasant buzz.

Then they got discovered (puck you Denis Franz!!!!!) and then the price w ent up.

Very good Dominican Cigar which USED to be affordable.....

No buzz, why bother>?

Hulk:

Oh, I've never had any kind of buzz, so I don't understand.

When quitting alcohol, I hear it's best to keep the sugar intake up a little bit, and gradually ween off the sugar.

Yes, it's made by Qingdao Brewery (I believe) and the name is "ling du" meaning zero percent. The taste is dire!

Yes - Beijing's local gutter water brew Yanjing has an alcohol free variety.

I don't know the name but in Beijing I see non-alchoholic beers at most restaurants.  Like someone else mentioned I believe Watsons is a good choice as well.

I never understood the point of drinking beer with no alchohol , does it still taste like beer? I've never tried.

Alcohol free beer makes about as much sense as fishnet condoms!

And anyway 3.6% is as close to alcohol free as I want to get.

There is that pineapple beer that has a malt alcohol free version. Not a bad malt, not a good beer.

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
