Q: Anything worth doing in Dongguan, besides...you know

Any good hiking trails, for instance? I want to take a drive out of Shenzhen for a weekend.

You would probably be able to find better hiking trails and more interesting scenery in Shenzhen than in Dongguan to start with. I am living in Dongguan myself (DaLingShan) but the only place I have found that is worth visiting so far has been Songshan lake.

It is a reasonably clean and large lake. You can cycle or walk around it in a couple of hours. That is pretty much it.

hi2u:

Thanks for the info. You understand how to answer a question properly. Seems like there's not much to do there so I can probably save myself a trip.

Dude, you live in a place that belongs to a concrete jungle that stretches 150km x 100km. What would you expect to find in Dongguan? The beginning of the Himalaya?

@andy I often drive to the beach and go hiking here. What's that about a concrete jungle?
