Similar to Bill Gates or Warren Buffet? Or do they just fly around in their private jets and not give a damn about all the worthy causes they could contribute to here?
Bill Gates & Warren Buffet came to China to speak at a dinner with the Chinese Billionaires. Only a couple showed up, the rest stayed away for fear that they would be asked to donate money.
I think that answers your question.
hell no, money is to show off. spent on the most ridiculous things and flaunted so everyone can see how better than them you are. giving to the poor would be a loss of face. besides no one here gives a sht for other people other than the immediate family. they would probably let a little girl die in a gutter rather than help.
Read some Chinese news, of course some enterprises do philanthropy when there are needs.
Just it's not enough yet. 4 major reasons I think:
1 philanthropy isn't in their blood yet;
2 China philanthropy system isn't trustworthy yet;
3 Chinese enterprises are till on the way for MNC;
4 Some money are not clean..

Btw, I don't like the way Bill gates they are doing. It's kinda of culture difference, should do it different way...not by American way...Not all enterprise went to the their dinner back home too..Not all European like their ideas too...
What about Li Jiacheng? He has donated like a billion USD or something. I don't know the names of any of the other billionaires, so I couldn't comment on them
