Q: Are more offices in China casual (clothing-wise)?

There is always a large lack of people on the metro wearing suits for work? why is everyone always dressed so casually?

People who wear suits drive, they don't take public transport.  In general, however, what is seen as acceptable in office attire is quite different from the west.  I.E wearing mini skirts and pretty much no guys wearing ties.

Yes, "office clothes" are much more "unofficial" for our point of view...

Specially in "not biggest" companies, and middle level management stuff.

Imagine a production manager in full suit, that have to out of office and go to the production line, where there is no air condition. He would be cooked in a minutes Smile

So there is nothing unusual to see a managers and (specially) owners of the company in very, very non formal clothes...

and YES, they DON'T go to work by a public transportation Wink

When visiting a 2-nd, ant 3-th tier cities - I see almost no formal dressed "bosses" and managers.

In big cities and in sectors other then production I expect to be a little different.

A vast majority wear too casual clothes ... normally men... I have had company meetings in 5star hotels... but guys turn up in shorts and round neck tshirts...

Had annual partyies with dress code color... but again.. as hey wish.. ~25% followed color code..

Worst is guys coming to office with tshirts having small holes... color shaded away... etc... which i wont even wear while playing badminton!!
