Q: Are there any decent Chinese TV shows?

Anytime I flick through the Chinese TV I'm bored senseless within a few minutes.

Any recommendations?

Ummm, let me think for a second... No, no there's not.

If you really wanna sit and watch your TV, invest in cable.

I bought a TV to play Xbox, if I wasn't a gamer I wouldn't bother owning a TV in China.

Try the sports channel CCtv 5 I believe it is. They show all types of sports. Just recently the US Open finals tennis match was being played between the champ Nadal and that other guy Novak.

No, they don't. No motorsports whatsoever, so not interested in watching endless hours of badminton and table tennis

Im sorry but Im not sure about the precise meaning of TV show. For example is "TBBT" ,"IT Crowded"or "Mad Men"  a kind of TV show?If so there were some worth watching.I think《汉武大帝》is quite a brilliant one.

Some details here:The leading role who had build a great reputation by acting in dramas had read related books for 5 months to  know the emperor better. And locked himself in his house to practice how to act the role for over 20 days. The ceremony in the palace is strictly based on the history book written in Han Dynasty.Of course there are some errors in it too but it is still a masterpiece.

Absolutley not!  Lets look at most of the choices:  News, lots of singing shows, anti-Japanese dramas that completely make up history, dramas for brain-dead girls about "cutey-cutey" love and Chinese guys in tight pants (well all Chinese guys wear tight pants, built like a 8 year old girl mannequin).

Options:

1.) Get a VPN/satellite

2.) There are many Chinese websites to watch Western TV shows/movies, just type the English name of the tv show/movie into Baidu, find the Chinese name and search.
