Q: Are Your Dreams at Night Set in China?

This just struck me today, that I don't recall ever having a dream at night where I was in China. After nearly nine years of living here full-time i'd have thought I would but nope, last night I was back in London and.......somewhere in Cornwall I think, getting into trouble with my brother, and for some reason Nicholas Cage was there and he was a crackhead. But they're always set back west.

What about you? You ever dream you're in China?

I dont dream . Period. Its the strangest thing. It feels like i sleep for 5 minutes. Go to sleep, then blackness, then instantly wake up feeling good to go. Its been that way since I was a kid.

And yes, know it alls, i know everyone dreams and i just dont remember, you dont need to look wise, everyone has heard that a million times.

icnif77:

Everybody dreams! Some just don't remember it.

I read about an experiment with mice. As soon as mice would fall asleep, they woke it up, and again... I can't remember how long it was the experiment, but mice eventually died. With food and water in excess.

Dude, you can't remember? There must be a lot of things you are trying to suppress...let's talk about your childhood, shall we? hahaha...

It happens sometimes...no matter how I try to remember what I dreamt about, it just doesn't come...I know I dreamt something, but it seems it wants to stay somewhere in the twilight zone...perhaps to haunt me in the future...

@mike: 'Mice could sleep only on the top of the slide. When its muscles would relax (in sound sleep, before the 'dream's beginning'), mice would slide toward the water. When in water, mice would run back to the top of the slide, and fall asleep again...and again....Conclusion was, mice died because of the lack of dreams. It could sleep, eat and drink as much as it was necessary for survival, but it wasn't able to dream. I can't find web link on that study anymore. Some '15Y ago' thingy.

Study concluded, that everybody dreams, some remember, some don't. On the misspelling matter: 'eChina has automatic (not very good!) 'spell checker/IP tracer'. Machine (Safari) will change text to the closest word, before you finish typing. Look at the screen, while you're typing, you'll see it. Proof read your text, before 'enter'.

Mouse had enough of sleep! Dreams occur close to the end of the sound sleep, so when mice was in that state, it would slide to the water, and woke up. No dreams! Then, it would get back to dry top, and fall asleep again. Repeat!

Think about the 'human on the slide', instead of mice.

Sometimes I dream I'm a Kung Fu guy falling from the sky...or I'm flying over hills, valleys, and mountains...

Speaking of dreams, are yours coloured or in black and white?

Paulberger:

my dreams are in color... i read somewhere once that if you dream in black and white its because something in your brain is linking up correctly when you sleep.  im no scientist and those weren't the exact words obviously, but thats about all i can remember. google it.

Dreams are important links to our subconscious. If you can interpret them correctly, you have valuable signposts to follow for life direction / happiness.

It's my New Year's Resolution actually.  Pay attention and strive to remember my nightly dreams.

thats simple, it means your gay, or have a mommy complex. The sucking if the crack pipe signifies your urge to put penis or moms tit in your mouth. Thanks freud! Im notna professional, it just seems every dream means gay or mom.

ok,,, I'm probably gonna win the 'weird' award, but someone has to...

other night I dreamt that I was stuck in North Korea and was engaged in an escape attempt,,,  I was like walking/jumping/flying around/over some sort of wall that defined the border,,, looked something like the old Berlin Wall,,,  well, my dream fast-forwarded to where I was in some bunker complex hanging out with Fatty Kim III,,,   he kept saying to me that I was his best friend and the only one he could talk to, the only one he could trust...  cuz he was a westerner at heart or something was his point and that those around him were different than him...  that is they were full Asian and would never accept the little Swiss boy...   well,, I thought it was a weird-ass dream anyway...

I had a dream that I was in China and Shenzhen bought Hong Kong and I was so happy because no more lining up haha. Now that is a dream.

canuck888:

Are you referring to the huge lines at the Shenzhen/Hong Kong borders?

If you are, then get the eChannel frequent visitors card and you are will avoid the long lines.......I also found that the lines at the Lok Ma Chau border to be much shorter plus it has a much newer border building than at the Louhu border

My dreams are usually positive and include people/things from my past.

I've been in China for almost 4 years and don't recall dreaming about anything here, despite having cut quite a few capers.

I usually have dreams about China when I'm in the U.S., and dreams about murica while in China. Unfortunately for the denizens of my dreamworlds, all dreams usually end with me going on a psychotic killing spree and ending as many guilty lives as possible.

Can't ever recall a China dream while I was in China, though.... that's so weird.

I don't remember my dreams, but I often wake up and think that I am some place different. Some times I wake up thinking I am in my parents house. I wake up in China thinking I am in my house. When I wake up at home I often wake up thinking that I am in China., I go back to sleep then.

Great question Smile I dream mostly of strange rehashed versions of familiar places back in France. The interiors are as "frugal" as they can be here, however. Last time, I was light enough to catch the wind and fly a few meters above a grassfield next to my parents home. There was an old tree from an other place in the field. And some riverbed that would be more at it place in a mountain. It took some balancing to use the wind to move in the direction I wanted, using my whole body as a sail. In the riverbed, the wind was stronger, I could fly faster. It was *GREAT*.

mArtiAn:

Yup, nothing like a flying dream, is there? I don't manage quite as gracefully as you do, I have to jump off a high building and flap my arms.
