I have heard that the Chinese Govt is thinking about relaxing their stranglehold on internet censorship, and opening up sites such as Facebook and Youtube in the very near future. Can anyone confirm these rumours??
no they say it for long time but it did not happen, any way you can use freegate!!!
Hey Ludovico
I dont know where you have that information from, but it is definetely not my impression that the government is relaxing the control on the net. Actually it is my impression that they are turning the screws on the net recently. I think this has something to do with the upcoming 90 years anniversary of the party.
Normally when china is nearing big days like the 60 years or 90 years anniversaries the control get stronger.
try freegate or ultrasurf. if u want i can send you the software.

I can confirm that it's a rumor. Oh. That wasn't what you asked. Well, who knows what the government is thinking about doing? Today, FB is blocked, as is YouTube and Twitter and who knows what else. Google VPN and move on.
Even Gmail in Shanghai works wired let alone opening up sites like Facebook!
Actually, gov. enhances the tension of Internet management .
Forget Twitter, Facebook, YouTube.
