Yep, and I have just finished reading an article telling Chinese teenagers to stop using supermarket bags as condoms.

giadrosich:

Ah, that explains it. I was wondering why scotch tape was sold out everywhere.

Straws, chopsticks, chopstick wrappers, styrofoam containers, oil, etc... It is all used again and again until a drunk blind man with no hands and half a brain can tell it has been used before.

Just another one of those things that you assume... and when you actually get a brand new straw... then it makes it an extra special day for you.

If you get a used straw that could mean one of two things. You could have picked up a used straw by accident or the person working there probably just didn't care what you got. I usually get my straws brand new in an unopened package. Where do you eat? You make it seem like they dig straws out the dumpster and put it in some kind contraption that allows you to take as many as you desire.

They are called straw holders Mattie. Very popular in the US and some parts of China.
