Q: Do the roosters in your city wake you up , in China?

Back in my mother land, farm animals are not allowed to be kept within the city limits. I see all types of critters in front of restaurants waiting to be entries. I went for dinner the other night and refused to order any chicken in case they grabbed one out of the cage near me. It really does bother me that an animal has to die for me to eat, but tofu sucks.

I hear all these roosters every morning when I wake. One rooster lives in an apartment next to mine. I wonder if he is a pet, for cock fighting or a coming up dinner party.  maty bs post

Nope. We did have a pack of dogs that would bark all night when we first moved in, but one of the other foreigners in my building took care of that. But I've lived in 3 neighborhoods in 2 cities in China and have never been woken up by roosters.

There are a bunch of chickens and at least one rooster (if not two) right below my window, and they make noise early in the morning until nightfall. I'm on the third floor, but it doesn't matter, they are very loud. I wouldn't mind so much, except that my window is crooked and doesn't shut properly, so it's like having my window open all the time. I hate it.

I just find it weird to hear roosters and car horns. I like the sounds of chickens, roosters and cows in the morning.

There are some roosters and various other farmy animals kinda caddy corner from where I live.  Thankfully, my hearing is quite terrible, so I never hear them.  Didn't know they were there until my ex-gf mentioned it, haha.

However, my poor hearing doesn't get me out of listening to the "guard" dogs at the factory across the street.  At about 6:30 am every morning, they absolutely lose their minds and it's non-stop barking.  Closing the window only helps marginally...

TedDBayer:

I didn't complain about the roosters, I hear them all day, BTW my entire life, never been a morning person, always a night owl,, I'm so not a morning person I could probably kill someone in the morning and get off with that as my defense.

Roosters, no.

But there's a park next to my house, and every single day, from 5am to 10am, a bunch of people come and scream from the top of their lungs. Some sing really loud, some do some excercise, some play some ugly instrument, but most of them walk around, and SCREAM.

Every.

Single.

Morning.

Old people come.

And "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"

I think I get up early enough before the roosters start to cock a doodle doo so it doesn't bother me one bit. Heck I might even imitate them sometimes! Just Kidding!

No, I do believe you.

haha.  No roosters here, but glad to know that everyone is getting rude awakenings (car horns, 5AM arguments from the neighbors, and blasting songs from the neighboring park here).  Car horns never stop.

How does a Chinese driver avoid hitting something?

Honk and accelerate.

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
