Q: Do you have to constantly look where you step in China?

Since there is so much spit on the ground how do you avoid stepping on it. Do you have to constantly look down to avoid stepping on any spit? What do you do to avoid it?

Spit? If thats all I had to avoid I would feel lucky. What rhymes with spit?

...and I don't know why you got a thumbs down for this question, perfectly legitimate query if you ask me.

I think one of our little friends is back and has found a crawl space

Yeah let's say it's the spit you have to worry about, or you'll never leave your house again.

Well aside from bodily waste deposited indiscrimately on the streets it's a good idea to watch out for bad paving, exposed manhole covers, excavations with no signs, cars that mount sidewalks to get a better position at the lights or just choosing an unusual route, Chinese pedestrians with their heads down walking fast, Chinese pedestrians shouting on their cell phones and Chinese pedestrians with camera in hand!
