If a China Unicom recharge card has e.g. a face value of RMB50, how much do you actually pay for it at the POS?
if you recharge in convenient stores you may even pay 1 kuai more, thats the fee for not buying the sratch card, but just entering your number in a small gadget... more convenient
if you buy online on taobao, u can get it for 48 kuai.
for reseller, the fee might be 45 kuai i could imagine
No, I'm American so I pay more. Some kind of meiguo surcharge? That's what they tell me.
Prepaid cards to charge cell phones from Unicom, Telecom and Mobile do come in different denominations (50, 100, etc) and you do pay face value. I am not charged any surcharge on top, and they do load them on my phone for free.
Now, cards for long distance calls are discounted. A 100 yuan card may sell between 35 to 50 yuan top. But be aware it is not only the cost per minute, the hidden fees must be checked also because some charge a fee per month, or per week, or per use.
