I introduced my girlfriend to some of my favourite acts, such as Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake, The Velvet Underground etc, and she's now a fan of them all. Hoping to take her to a Leonard Cohen concert one day (before he gets too old)  as I gave her a recording of Cohen concert I attended back in 2008 and she loved his music and charm onstage.

I have a friend who's girlfriend is really into Thelonious Monk. I found that totally random but uber cool at the same time.

People under 25 like 'normal' music.  Older than that usually means listening to ancient recordings of some hong kong singer from the 80s (with hair to match).

I was born and grown in China, before I came to Europe, I listened to some "breakthrough-level" Brit-pop and got to know different kinds of electronic music, quite limited thought but still more than most of my friends. Now my bf introduced tons of some great and cool music of all kinds. I like most of it. We just went back from Rock Werchter.

So, in China, the music most ppl can reach is limited, just introdeced to your gf more music, I guess they will like at least some.

Good luck Tongue

Only sad music, doesn't matter the language, as long as it's sad and slow. Total opposite of what I like. Oh well.
