Q: going to Thailand, any concerns ?
I checked Canadian government, they have all sorts of warnings up for Thailand, Should I worry or what do I have to watch out for? Do i need to bring an AK 47 or will hand guns be enough? Hand grenades? Sorry i asked seriously.

careful of the lady boys after a heavy night on the drink. The serious side of Thailand is mainly gov protests which can get nasty and the flooding at the moment. Should be fine but keep alert to whats happening outside

apart from the time they closed the airport i dont think travelers have been majorly affected. Plus most of the trouble happened in bangkok, there are alot of other cool places in Thailand. also I think the floods have all been cleared up.
Like any different place, you need to be careful. Many of the ladies were not born ladies, some will try to take your $$. They have the same scams that we have here in China and probably some "new" scams that we dont have.
There are the many scams, and seems like recently there have been some bombings there.
Watch what you drink, where you go and with whom you spend the night.
Look up and see if the have an equivalent of this website, a Thai version of "E-Thailandcities" or some such...?
This in addition to the standard: look both ways before crossing the street, eat your veggies and wear clean underwear!

Get out of Bangkok ASAP! Bangkok is great if you're looking for whores or ladyboys (or both) but the south of Thailand and the islands are beautiful. Bangkok cant be seen in a day or two, but the rest of the country is where you should concentrate on. I forgot the names, but theres two islands worth going to, one is a main holiday destination off the west coast, the other is quieter and on the east. Both are alot cheaper cleaner and prettier than Bangkok.
Its worth spending one night in Bangkok (One night in Bangkok and the worlds your oyster) just for the muay thai. there are 2 arenas which have fights on alternate nights. After that leave Bangkok and dont look back.

I think perhaps you mean Phuket (west) and Ko Samui (east), both of which are gorgeous.
I'm taking GF, so have to be good, maybe two days in Bangkok, I'd like to see Ayutthayak, then on to Phulet. I was planning to go later, but GF friends are going now, so we're going with them, they have friends in Phuket. I want a cottage by the beach, just sit and drink Mia Tias or beer for a week. It'd be nice if I found some buds.

Ok, I agree with Crimo! Send her to one of those all day spa thinggies and head yourself to Phuket!
I wont say take pictures, becasue if GF finds them, you may lose something that you value very much!

I only sleep a couple of hours most nights, Chinese girls need 14 hours. I could sneak out, thanks for reminding me about camera. I'll take my backup one.. Wow! I like the idea of your movie! However, for the capture scene with the Amazons, I strongly suggest you hire a stunt double, like me, to take over. You know, keep the peace and harmony between you and the GF. In fact, I will even pay for my own flight AND hotel Stay!

This depends how close you are in real life to your online persona here. If they are close or the same, God help you....
As far as the floods go, I was there during the floods and managed to avoid any hassles whatsoever by avoiding Bangkok. The north (mountains, culture) and the southern islands (beaches, bars) were fine. In any case, they're in the hot season not the rainy season now, the floods ought to be a distant memory.
The far south, near the Malaysian can be a trouble zone, and that's probably what many warnings refer to; also, when protests break out Bangkok is a very bad place to be. Just keep a quick eye daily on the Bangkok Post if you hear any rumours.

I have 3 suits but not one for that heat. I don't know how anyone can wear a suit when its 30*. Maybe I can get a t shirt painted with a tie on it.
