Q: Has anyone bought Chinese style clothing?

Yesterday I finally got around to ordering a qipao. I've wanted one for a while and wasn't sure if it would be worth ordering it online. At least this way I know it will fit me. I also think other Chinese style dresses are beautiful, the kind you see on historical dramas.

I wanted to buy my girl friend a cheongsam style dress,, nope, not even just a robe in this ,, its what I think of when I used to think Chinese. I like them, Actually I think they are hot, not so for the tutu lace miniskirts., ;Mini skirts are Chinese style.

And yes, I have bought Chinese clothes for me,  I have one Chinese sport coat (or equivalent) , and a few Mao type shirts.  I enjoy wearing them

GuilinRaf:

I bought a Mao suit and wore it once.

Everyone called me "Minime".....cool

Yes I got some chinese sleepwear it's really comfortable. It's a long story how I got those clothes though I was actually at one of those korean jin jin bangs and they gave me one which I didn't know I was purchasing but still it was a good souvenier and it was comfortable for me. I also got one of those traditional chinese shirts!

I wish I could buy one, but I'd feel like such a tool/stereotypical tourist going back "home" after 6 years wearing one of those.

Want to upload the photo but have no idea how to do that here crying

Jnusb416:

You'll have to put it on some kind of hosting site first, such as photobucket. Then you can use the url to link it.

A:Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever foreigners do.  I spent 15 years in China but I wouldn't say there are that many don'ts....Don't assume that many people speak English though and learn some Chinese. Don't speak much about politics unless you want to praise Chinese system.  -- Natalie363
