A friend of mine went to get his driver's license and they did not have a copy of the test in English, so he was told that he had to take it in Chinese but will be allowed a translator.  And when the translator showed up, overdid the job required, since he not only translated the questions but provided the correct answers.  I am talking about the written test, by the way.

Just learn it "parrot fashion" and you will be fine

A 15MB Excel (2007) file can be found at www.shekou.info/chinese_driving_test_questions_(blank).zip
This is an interactive MS 2007 XLSX spreadsheet that I made in which you answer the questions and it tells you if your answer is right or wrong. It contains 1315 questions from the 1500 question examination bank, related to cars only, in English only.

A 15MB Excel (2003) file can be found at www.shekouonline.com/chinese_driving_test_questions_(blank)_xls.zip

Sorry "I" here refers to original author, I only copied and pasted whatever he e-mailed me. Not trying to take credit for something I didn't do, an honest mistake due to the fact that I didn't bother double check the answer when I posted it.

Does your local traffic police station not offer the test in english?  In Ningbo, they have a separate room with 4 computers dedicated to foreigners who wish to get their Chinese driver's license.  I used the above excel spreadsheet posted, and scored a perfect 100 on my first try.  The test itself is not hard, just rote memorization of those 1500 questions.  If you try to take the test without studying first, you will more than likely fail.  A minimum 90% score is required to pass, and some of the questions border on insanity and rediculousness.  I spent a couple weeks studying.  Good luck!

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
