I can no longer use the grammatical phrase "not only... but also,..." without thinking it sounds really weird and robotic.
不但....而且...
and of course the Chinese grunt which someone mentioned yesterday.

I called all people younger than I am "xiao this and xiao that", even if they are adults.
I am speaking English very slowly.so that local people can understand...and sometimes Local people says that ..oh..your English is very poor
The only thing is when words sound the same like How and Hao it kind of makes you think. Just like when those indians had the greeting how and the english said how for asking a question.
This is very interesting. Generally speaking, English and Chinese have very different grammar system. But sometimes, you can compare them to memorize the rules.
I think as long as you master the grammar rules in Chinese language, you will not encounter this kind of problems again.
Yes, it definitely has. Sometimes I "think" in Chinese when I speak English and when I translate it, the English doesn't add up. Or sometimes I forget a very common English word because I use it's Chinese equivalent more often.
Lol....Grammatically it has. There are some grammatical aching errors that flies around that you just pick up without noticing....i got to know when i travelled out of China how bad it got to me
I haven't really been learning Chinese but being in China has definitely affected my vocabulary. Whenever I go back to Canada after about 3 or 4 months in China, and try to communicate in English again, I sometimes find myself literally at a loss for words. I think this is because I tend to simplify my vocabulary when speaking English in China.
