I got the job and my company wants to know what papers to provide me with so as to process my work permit.

1. Stop being a student.
2. Have the proper degree (four-year bachelor minimum)
3. Be from the U.K, U.S., Canada, Australia, NZ for a teaching position
If they (your company) doesn't know, chances are they're not legally entitled to hire foreigners.
For a work visa, your company should state that they really need you, and you need a bachelor degree or above. The company wishing to employ you can get the list of the required papers at the local PSB office. Beware, you might need to go out of the country and enter again to start your work visa (the infamous Hong-Kong maneuver).
Makhoe:
Ouch I feared that going out part, have been to Hong Kong twice for extension not a fan too costly. Some one needs to tell these guys to loosen up a bit , seriously . Any way thanx Dr Monkey
But you need to prove you have 2 years of working background.
You WILL have to exit the country no matter what. Work permit are only issued to Z visa holders, and only ambassies abroad including Hong Kong are entitled to issue visas.
No exception to that rule.

Passport first page scan, visa page scan
Renewed business license copy
