To whom this may concern: I am not sure who monitors the "comment" section but I believe that some of the comments should be remove. It is awful that you allowed inappropriate comments on the site. Here is an example from Chinese Desserts: Developing a New Sweet Tooth: ChinaIsSoStrong(2)(4) - As an American I don't like Chinese men the women are are great and cheap to bang ha ha ChinaIsSoStrong(1)(4) - So many Chinese women want white guys because the Chinese economy is so broken and poor. Ha ha Really, you allow this garbage on your website and this person to make such comments???? How inappropriate this is? You are standard are low. Thank you,
to the OP, are you advocating censorship?
yes, there will be comments that offend, but you can choose to ignore them or report them.
Compared to some forums, Echina is quite mild and posters here will complain about anything too offensive.
The reality about the world, this forum being a small part, is that people will offend, argue, rant, critisise, as well as support, advise, praise.
If you get offended easily maybe this is not the place for you.
The comments you highlight are quite mild and easily dismissed.
there is a "report abuse" button which you can use for every posting
That comment the OP quoted wasn't posted by a foreigner so......grow up!
So they should read every fucking comment from every fucking article? Seriously think about this. We are not children, each poster is responsible for their own comments.
When I started to see a new account making these types of nonsensical comments I thought that this was an attempt to make this site appear anti China so the CCP could ban it.
Now we see a new account quoting this new account that caught my attention. And you could see from the name, that account was created for 1 purpose.
I wonder if OP is more offended by the part of the comment on the economy, or the slightly misogynistic view on things. I guess it must be the economy part.

The OP is the poster that made the offending comments. Look at the chinglish.
Because this is a foreign run website that allows freedom of speech. People have opinions and here they are free to express them, just because that person said such doesn't mean that the site or the other people on the site agree with him.
Freedom of speech rules!
there is a report post button btw that you can use to report it if you find it offensive.

Yeah people are going to say what they are going to say, doesn't make it right or wrong.
dear Op, you got to complain and practice English for free, how wonderful is that? your English has too many mistakes. ,,,,remove+d, allowed (-ed), You are= your
Boo hoo. Freakin sensitive? "The passion for destruction is also a creative passion." Bakunin. "That which does not destroy me, makes me stronger." Nietzsche
I don't see the problem others here seem to have.
If the comment was 'inappropriate' in the context of the article, then yeah, I don't think it should be on there. It's a waste of space. In that regard, the OP ought to report it.
But, given the responses, it would appear that wumaos should be allowed to flourish and flaunt their crap without bitching. And those who support the CFTU should also be allowed to say whatever they want... etc etc etc.
Sorry guys, but double-edged sword! And hypocrisy and all that!!
crimochina:
I think you're missing the point. It is not the website's responsibility. Clearly that poster is chinese and not american. So not only do we have a misplacing of blame but there might be something fishy going on
Shining_brow:
Probably not anyone's responsibility (this is China, after all! :p)
But, I think the OP is just trying to say "Sheesh guys, is this really something you want to post? It reflects badly on you".
I actually appreciate this post and poster. Firstly, they're basically telling it like it is to him/her. Sure, Chinese, but not pretending not to be. And they at least bothered to go through the process of creating an account... unlike many other threads of late.
Just my 2c worth.
The point is, anyone should come up here with an identity. From last couple of weeks there are about a dozen newbies (Peasants) who are completely derogating the enviironment of the forum. Whatever one has in mind and wants to ask should be declassified with an identity.
Dozens new accounts = Dozens of shit posts in a row. I do not intend to bitch about the new comers as those are not of new comers. The accounts and the diction show they are coming in shadows to fuck up everything. There isn't a single post supported by arguments from the poster or replied once posted....

I disagree. I don't think longevity or seniority on any public forum entitles one user to degrade or bash another. We are all equal here and although I just decided to join in because of extra time on my hands during the holiday, I have been reading comments for over 3 year here. I sometimes see people ridiculed just because they don't agree with the majority view. Sorel and Shining Brow are admirable exceptions. So whether you live on this forum 24/7 or just check in once a month and no matter how big or small your post count may be, i think everyone has an opinion that should be respected and considered equally. Just look at all the people with less than 50 posts who left the forum. I'll bet there are more than 300. About 50 were banned and the others felt bullied and went elsewhere. Do YOU always agree with the majority just to fit in with forum crowd?
thefidu881:
It is not about longevity or being top user rather those who come up with extreme hateful comments, derogatory remarks( a retard yesterday went after Sorrel) and the like. They get banned and make another account. The most miserable thing is there is nothing worth reading in their posts but disgrace, racism and personal attacks.
If you go through my comments and answers, I had a very tough time with the seniors here and even had harsh words but still didn't let go the ethics from hands. I still respect them and never went on crazy because we all had some arguments to support the cause. That is a decent way to criticize and bash the bad aspects of society. On the contrary those guys have polluted the forum and attacked members personally which is completely vague. Agree or disagree on the basis of our own perception and liking is completely different than making people annoyed without a single argument.
if you get offended then fuck off and dont come to the site... its the internet what do you dribbling clowns expect?
this question comes from someone who joins dec 29, 2013 and has make no comments or posts until this diatribe about insults from another neophyte. perhaps you were to busy in your politics class to read the website for the last 4 months. i agree with crimo, something stinks about this post.
Even morons have freedom of speech. If we deprive them, someone will use it as a precedent to deprive us. I oppose all censorship and try to be sensitive to the country where I am speaking or posting. Although in China, I am not sure about the value of being "politically correct".
