Different things work for different people but doing some form of exercize such as swimming is generally good. Yoga or Taichi is also a great way to unwind and relax but you have to be motivated and serious about it to get proper results.

Massage parlors & cold beer.  The two ways I love to spell relief.

bigkrishna:

i tried massage... all they do is ram your muscles, felt like you fell off the bike or slipped the stairs...

I belong to a long distance cycling club.   When the weather is clement enough, after work, in the early evening hours, we cycle 25 - 35 kilometers during the workweek, 100 kilometers or long on the weekend.  It's a great way to reduce stress and also a very good form of exercise.  Additionally, I have seen (backwater) parts of the country that were quite pretty that I would have never seen otherwise.

bigkrishna:

cool... you made me remember that my bikes were stolen here, twice... i used to take a ride whenever ever bored... cross country biking... you made me remember the nice rides i used to have... thanks

Finding a desert spot with a great view on the city (like a roof), and then drink beer and smoke cigarettes in silence.

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
