Q: How far can you go when dealing with disobedient employees?

I had one of my employee that forgot to say Milord, after asking me a question. You got to keep them in line by reminding them the rules. I yelled a bit at him, then let it go, as he was bowing his head in shame. But I was wondering... how far can you go? Is it legal to mentally pressure him, or do China call it "harassment" too? There's a thin line between the two, and i was wondering how thick it was in China

And is corporal punishment totally illegal, or would it be possible, to, say, hypothetically, hit the fingertips with a wooden stick?

come on dear the era of kings and queen has finished and all those glorising words for them, me lord and your highness... those they are used in movies but forcing your employee to do that, come thats emotional torture he or she will not work properly or discuss some matter free and frankly, though give alot of deal to employee is not good but things like these can make them upset. you seems to be having good personality but pleaseeeee...........

be cool.... find respect with love not by force........ Smile

You yelled at your employee just because he forgot to call you "Milord"? That's really strange.

You know Chinese people can not divide work to life so apart. They will really confused by a man who dance on table after work while required to be treated like a King during work time. People will do not know how to go on with you.

Maybe you should talk with them like freinds, that might make both of you feel better.

A:I think it depends on the size of city you're in, but yes, I have been treated better than others. For example, this weekend, I went with some friends on a trip to a town outside of the city. On the bus, there wasn't any sitting room for a while (it was a 40 minute trip) and when a seat opened up, my friend said I could sit down. But I noticed there was a woman standing right beside me, at least twice as old as me, and she also said I should sit down. I said, no, that woman is older than me, she deserves the seat. The lady said it was ok. I asked why, and my friend said that she said it was because I am a foreign teacher. I said, no, you can take the seat, but that woman is older than me, she deserves it. She did get off two stops later, so I guess that's why it didn't bother her, but still. How in the world do I deserve more respect than that woman? Blows my mind. Why should I get stuff just because I'm a foreigner? Honestly it doesn't just blow my mind, it pisses me off. Later on that same bus ride, I did get a seat, but there weren't really any other seats opening up. So a few stops later, I said my friend Alice could sit down. Honestly, she looked more tired than I did. Two stops later she hopped up, but I said she should sit down longer because I did. On the way back, I almost got spit on by an old man. Fun times. -- Jnusb416
