Q: How far can you go when dealing with disobedient employees?

I had one of my employee that forgot to say Milord, after asking me a question. You got to keep them in line by reminding them the rules. I yelled a bit at him, then let it go, as he was bowing his head in shame. But I was wondering... how far can you go? Is it legal to mentally pressure him, or do China call it "harassment" too? There's a thin line between the two, and i was wondering how thick it was in China

And is corporal punishment totally illegal, or would it be possible, to, say, hypothetically, hit the fingertips with a wooden stick?

You yelled at your employee just because he forgot to call you "Milord"? That's really strange.

You know Chinese people can not divide work to life so apart. They will really confused by a man who dance on table after work while required to be treated like a King during work time. People will do not know how to go on with you.

Maybe you should talk with them like freinds, that might make both of you feel better.

A:collect calls are in the too hard basket in China. Yes, use Skype if that is easy for you, however Skype is owned by Micro$oft and I do not want to use that. What I have is a Voip softphone setup on a mobile without a sim card and switched to aeroplane mode with wireless manually switched on. I found Linphone works well. http://www.linphone.org/Linphone can also be used on a desktop. Then I pay about 5 dollars a month to a voip service which includes a DID You might want to try this Canadian based Voip and DID provider; https://voip.ms/ This gets you a LOCAL number (in Canada in your case) so that people can call you, and you can call them. Need wireless and good internet connection, done! -- daxigua
