Q: If something is stolen how difficult s it to get the police report needed for travel insurance?
I have just purchased travel insurance for my upcoming trip to China. It is really only for the sickness accident type cover that I bother. But the stolen bike question on this forum got me thinking. If a had some cash I my computer knocked off for example, how difficult is it going to be even with my Mrs translating to report it to the local captain plods and to get them off their arses to write me a report?. From my few brief experiences I don't like my chances. Anyone had to make a claim?
I am vey sorry to let you know that I have made a few claims of stolen things to the Police, among them my cell phone on a train or my suitcase from a bus.
I am still waiting to hear from them (even to tell me they haven't done a thing) after two years.
But if your luck is better that mine, and you manage to get a report from the Police, will your travel insurance accept something written on Mandarin ?
