Q: Living in Hohot (Inner Mongolia) ?
How to manage that business visa story like going out of mainland (Macau or HK) every month and coming back.
What is convenient for Hohot , in terms of crossing borders and coming back ? Going HK and Macau is too expensive as they are far enough.
Anyone living there or any suggestions ?

a buddy of mine changed from a business visa to a work visa while living in hohot. he had the school put "korea" on the invitation letter and related documents. he then traveled there to apply for his work visa. a note to anybody that wants to try korea as a place to cross the border and apply for a working visa. it didn't work. he was forced to travel to canada after that. since he left all his belongings in hohot, he traveled very light and last minute. the school had to resend him the documents in canada, where he re-applied and successfully got the working visa.

Actually I wanted to know Where to cross the border to get another 30 days stay in Business Visa (30 Days is the maximum stay in Business Visa) as I have Multiple Entry Visa and want to stay in Hohot for a long time.
Any cross country Border near Hohot ? Need to apply Visa in advance? or like HK and Macau visa on arrival ?
If you need a new visa, Ulanbataar (or whatever is the name of Mongolia's capital) is your best choice, they have a Chinese embassy there and foreigners are very welcome to process visas since very few Mongolians go to China.
If you only need to exit, cross the Mongolian border at any checkpoint.

Not if you are from US, Canada or Europe. Check wikipedia "visa requirements for Mongolia.

Yes dear, you do need a visa to enter ulanbatar, mangolia but for your goodness the mangolian embassy is in hohhot you can ask your university for the address. Normally they provide the visa in 3 days. Get train and cross the border. Best of luck....!!!
