Sign up with Google Sign up with FacebookQ: Options for full time work with an F Visa
Hello,
I am currently in possession of a 1 year F visa and I was wondering how I can effectively turn this into work permit?
I am currently speaking with some schools who say it isn't a problem but I am well aware of the rules of full time work with an F visa. Would it be possible to obtain an AEP/AEC on an F visa and work full-time? The only sure-fire option I am aware of is returning back to my home country and obtaining a Z visa which is not really viable.
Any advice or clarification would be appreciated.

I am going to assume that you wish to work LEGALLY, since you do not use that word in your question. Unless you come to China as a representtive of a foreign company to train or implement policies fom your home country, and are paid by your home country outside China (not the local subsidiary), you can not do any type of work, even if you do not receive a salary for your efforts. That is the LAW. To be specific, a Business Visa (F Visa) is issued to an alien who is invited to China for a visit, an investigation, a lecture, to do business, scientific-technological and culture exchanges, short-term advanced studies or internship for a period of no more than six months. You do not see anywhere the word "WORK". So, if you want to be legal in China, and wish to work now, get a work visa, and afterwards the required FEC, work and residence permits prior to start working. Are you aware that you do not need to fly back to your home country to request a work visa? Use a visa agency in your home country from China.
Simple option - get the school to request an invitation letter that permits you to get the 'Z' visa in Hong Kong. You don't have to go all the way back to your own country.
