Hi everybody. I overstayed my visa one day (actually few hours!). I crossed the border in Shenzhen to go to Hong Kong. They stopped me. I explained why i overstayed (cos i got some problems with the train), I also showed them the train ticket. But after 1 hour they let me go without saying anything. Now I'm still in Hong Kong and I just would like to know...if I go back to my country (Italy) n I will apply for visa to come back, they could reject it?! There will be any problem? Please help me!

If they did not give you a monetary fine, or asked you to sign any papers, you should have no worries. I was late myself 23 minutes about 3 or 4 years ago and got two visas afterwards without a hitch
you are safe as HappyExpat said, no problem with that.
At least he could have said thank you to you guys. Bah, Overstayers, they never appreciate their parents.
thanks a lot to everybody!! I'm feeling much better! Thanks!^_^
Just give them a Moon Cake with about 1000 rmb in it. Everything will always be ok in China if you do this.
Only a problem if they give you a sticker/stamp in your passport that you overstayed.

I am kinda of curious what does it look of the overstay stamp and stickers in their passports?
icnif77:
It doesn't really matter how entry ban stamp looks like, IMO.
One shouldn't have it, so entry to the country is still possible.
I'd say, changing of the passport might help, but you never know 'cause all records are accessible online .. these days.
icnif77:
I don't have such an experience, but I thought new passport might do. However, since all is documented and accessible for border control agents online, you're probably right @spider.
That's almost 8-years old Q/thread ..

American passport number does change on the new one but they would still have the rest of your info, dob, name, etc.
