From what i can tell everybody has their guns drawn! I know when I reach Shanghai that I wont have my .38 with me... Im startin ta Quiver in my dang boots... but Im gonna start takin sword lessons jist as soon as i git thar dang it!
You can get here flying west, costs a bit more., pretty much the same distance from NA. China is a modern wild west, it's lawless, people do the stupidest things, they drive like maniacs and they shouldn't even have drivers licenses. Bring back rickshaws, save the enviroment.
Don't get a sword, every one in China knows kungfu and sword play, always bring a gun to a sword fight.

Ted and Paul...
Im kidding about this really...im actually focussing my stance about this site moreso than China itself.. i am very very interested in the Q and A here but it seems very toxic... but i understand it to some degree... but i think if it were less confrontational it would be nicer.
Paulberger:
haha you havent read nothing yet! the confrontations and ranting is why i love this site!
bryan.mcminn:
damn... maybe this is the reason i like this site too... for the most part anyway...

....and you haven't even met the proper nut jobs (I will not mention anyone by name)
it some ways it is like the wild west. lawlessness, corruption, hectic, lack of modern facilities. but i think part of the reason we (or at least me) are drawn to this country is because of the excitement that follows suit. not that i'm condoning all this, but it does make for an interesting stroll down the street... if you make it back home alive. as for learning sword play, i think you would be better off spending your time learning chinese to avoid conflicts. or buy a gun... ted's idea works too.
I was always under the impression that in the Wild West. You would have opportunities to generate great wealth. You were free to live as you'd like (although the people settling the US west coast was under the ties of Christianity) But if you did wrong, Clint Eastwood would come and put you to justice. The latter part is missing in China. The wild west actually had law enforcement.
