Q: Places to meet expats in Guilin

Hello,

I just moved to Guilin and would like to meet some expats.

Is there any place where expats like to hang out?

Thanks

There is a website for guilinexpats.com They have get togethers, I don't know anything about, never bothered. There are several small bars that expats hang out in on the walking streets. Walk down the walking street until you get to a raised platform with picnic tables, bar on the corner and one on the street to your right. Depending on your age, also a couple of discos on walking streets. Around the picnic tables you might meet a Chinese guide that will say hello, ''Jerry'', he's a nice guy. He knows where things are and can help you. PM me if you have any other questions.

Yes, I saw the the guilinexpats.com site, but it doesn't seem to have been updated for the past year or two. Thanks for the advise, I will check out the pinic table area.

A:If he did contact the embassy they would tell him to engage a lawyer. They at least might be able to point him towards a somewhat decent lawyer, I don't think they'd be of much help aside from that though. I doubt the lawyer would be able to do much other than help negotiate the compensation he will need to pay.   -- Stiggs
