Q: Q1 visa done, need advices on next step.

First of all I want to thank everybody with advices on Q1 visa, everything went smooth and I got it from Chinese embassy in my home country in 2 days after application was made. Now I need some advices on temporary residence permit docs requirements and some heads up if any needed besides standard requirements. Btw. just got back to China, didn't go to exit entry Bureau yet.

1) Go to your local police station with your wife to register and get the temporary registration form. If your wife rents a property then you need to take the lease contract with you.

2) If you're going to try and apply for a 2-year resident permit then go and take the official medical.

3) Get photos taken at a place that gives the official barcode receipt.

4) go and apply for the resident permit at your local entry-exit bureau. Check what other documents you might need first. Things like marriage book/certificate, whether it need translating, etc.

@hotwater, thanks. Fortunately we were married in China so I don't need to translate anything. Generaly this can be done in a day or two? And how long it usually takes for permit to be done?

A day or two? No way.

Medical results take 5 working days to issue.

Residents permit is about 7 working days but not 100% sure.

I am expecting a visit to my home from exit entry administration. Is this normal procedure in China for marriage visa or this is something new?

Visit was just normal visit, probably to verify that we are really married, but today they called me that they are unable to give me resident permit and that I have to apply in my wife's hometown, that is after they wasted my 7 days.
