Q: shipping to HK from Mainland

Hi all,,,,,  just wondered if anyone on here has shipped small package from mainland to HK.  I'm talking about personal items and it probably won't be over 3kg (probably less), nothing toxic*, controlled, illegal, or particularly valuable, 2 - 4  thousand rmb maybe.  Any pointers on company/procedure you like to use and do the Custom agents at either border bust your balls about it?

*maybe a Li-ion battery from time to time

I normally use EMS when I send stuff to Europe. I find they're pretty good and one of the very few state owned companies that can compete with international competition on a level playing field. Never shipped to HK but imagine it will be fairly straight forward.

thx all,,,  I have used SFExpress for local stuff,,, good to hear that they are willing to take on the HK challenge,,  haha,,, yeah, I'm joking (and not)

I kinda worded my initial post wrong,,, yeah, I did want a suggestion for a good courier,, but I'm kinda really wanting to know if anyone on here has anything to say about the Customs and Duty practices when shipping Mainland>HK>Mainland.

like do they open your package and ransom u for an exorbitant duty fee ?

Curiousdude:

i thin' hk has no imprt duty fr most itms (excpt branded luxury gds or alcohl/cigs). its pretty straightfwd, u shldnt hv prblm imo.

3 kilogram is dangerous. My friend has it banned by the custom, same like 3 kilograms, nothing toxic.
